Aqaba is a four-piece band based near Bath, performing original songs, initially composed by singer/songwriter, Andrew Matthews.
The strength of Aqaba, however, is the contributions made, both musically and imaginatively, by all members of the band. Coming to the project from a range of musical backgrounds, Mark Jones (piano/keyboards/Vocals), James Matthews (Drums/Vocals) and Jack Hey (Bass/Vocals) ensure that the songs develop without restrictions of genre or pre-conceived boundaries.
The first EP, ‘A Question of Going’, was recorded in the spring of 2018, closely followed by ‘Dive’ in 2019 which was launched to accompany the band’s tour of Cornwall for the Coverack Arts festival.
We are excited to have released out our fourth record , Beauty In The Deadheads.
The EP features five new songs, written over the past year.
It has been great to work with some guest musicians on this project, and brilliant to be rehearsing for live shows again.
